darksabre Posted August 12, 2021 Report Posted August 12, 2021 I would look for the Paul Hamilton segment from Schopp and Bulldog this evening where he talks about it. It's important to note that the medical people under fire here no longer work for the team. 3 Quote

It's important to note that the medical people under fire here no longer work for the team. However, the team continues to hire staff that are from "the outside". Makes you wonder if they keep looking for unconventional in the medial staff just like they've done for so many other positions. 1 Quote

Marvin Posted August 12, 2021 Report Posted August 12, 2021 Cynic's view: he's trying to help Eichel out by undermining the Sabres. He picked his side a few weeks ago in another interview. The media and players are really trying to help other teams get Eichel for an ROR deal. 5 Quote

I doubt it...when a team is this badly run it extends to all areas of the organization. Players wouldn't go out of their way to trash medical staffs that way unless something was really off. kas23 Posted August 12, 2021 Report Posted August 12, 2021 The Bills have some of the best trainers and medical staff in the NFL. It’s evident on the field as well. It’s hard to imagine the Sabres staff is the complete opposite. 3 Quote

He is not a doctor. Keep in mind that if other teams doctors thought Eichel’s desire for surgery was the absolute right course he may have been traded by now. 4 Quote

Two of the Three they replaced did not have Sports Medicine Fellowships. In addition the Head Trainer at the time had a background in Rugby. As previously mentioned a large majority of the Trainers have been replaced. 3 Quote

The time frame Lehner is speaking out about it needs to be remembered that he was in the bag half the time. He has admitted himself that time frame he didn’t know what country he was in let alone games or practices he participated in without being high! Edited August 12, 2021 by JKB1646 3 Quote

Shootica Posted August 12, 2021 Report Posted August 12, 2021 (edited) A few thoughts: You don't need to play or have played hockey to properly diagnose and treat hockey injuries. It is generally recommended to keep using a sprained ankle for non-weightbearing activity (like a low resistance exercise bike) soon after injury to promote bloodflow/healing and maintain flexibility. You could have at least googled it before whining on a podcast years later. Sorry Robin but call me back once you get your degree in orthopedics. Edited August 12, 2021 by Shootica 8 Quote

As for Lehner, and I'm not necessarily trying to defend him because I don't think he should be blaming others more then himself for how things went down in Buffalo (a team that actually saw the potential in him and overpaid to bring him in to be given the chance to be a full time starter), He may not have a medical degree but did live through all of it and knows best what went down. I don't think he is making these comments if other medical experts had told him that the Sabres medical staff did everything correctly...... Quote
Digger Posted August 12, 2021 Report Posted August 12, 2021 Lehner hasn't played for the team since 2018. Seems like the media is really digging to keep the negative narrative going against the Sabres. What's the real point? All about poor Eichel? They should focus on getting some NHL team(s) to step up with a fair trade offer so that poor Jack can get his desired medical procedure. 3 1 Quote
