You might be surprised. Consider that choosing a veteran might be viewed by the brain trust as blocking a young player from leadership experience.

After Rick's video today, I realized that Jack will never suit up for the Sabres again. I think they take the highest bid before training camp starts. Probably just what the Rangers are waiting for.

I think the obvious and intentional message in the video is that Jack will be back. They were showing him that they could care less what he thinks, they own him.
