Curt Posted July 27, 2021 Report Posted July 27, 2021 This is fine. I hope all of the FA signings are not like this. 1 Quote
dudacek Posted July 27, 2021 Report Posted July 27, 2021 Guys like Caggiula are smart to take the first deal offered. The Athletic did a calculation where they figured about 50 UFAs are going to be out of a job when the wheel stops spinning. Didnt make much of an impression on me, but he bumps Eakin out of the 4C spot for the time being and that can’t be a bad thing. 4 Quote

Rasmus_ Posted July 27, 2021 Report Posted July 27, 2021 I like Caggiula, another cast off ready for our castoff crew party. Now we need Kahun, Donato, Suter and Rafferty. Quote
SDS Posted July 27, 2021 Report Posted July 27, 2021 As a refresher: Caggiula led the University of North Dakota to the NCAA championship in 2016 and was named the most outstanding player at the Frozen Four after scoring four goals with one assist in two games. Two of those goals came in the third period of North Dakota's 5-1 victory against Quinnipiac in the title game. That was the exclamation point on a season when Caggiula had 25 goals (fifth most nationally) and 51 points (eighth) in 39 games. So it was no surprise that several NHL teams pursued Caggiula once he had finished his senior year and was able to field contract offers. 1 1 1 Quote
Thorner Posted July 27, 2021 Report Posted July 27, 2021 He wasn't very good last season, so ya I guess this is ok given expectations. Hopefully 13th F but not sure about that Quote

I think our base to finish was often: Skinner Reinhart Olofsson Asplund Mitts Thompson Bjork Cozens R2 Caggiula Sheahan Reider But he is listed as a centre. Quote

Hopefully 13th F but not sure about that To be fair, almost no one was very good. I don’t really remember much of his game, but he put a few points up every season. Somewhere around 20 is how it averages out. Quote
Thorner Posted July 27, 2021 Report Posted July 27, 2021 (edited) Hasn't played more than 55 games in 4 years. Is there some injuries in there or is it mostly scratches? Edited July 27, 2021 by Thorny Quote

Claude Balls Posted July 27, 2021 Report Posted July 27, 2021 Pfft.....the first of the 10 guys KA will sign for $750,000 like he did last off season. Guess the Risto trade is gonna be the highlight of the off season. Quote
