steveoath Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 (edited) Viljami Marjala- Quebec Remparts https://thehockeywriters.com/viljami-marjala-2021-nhl-draft-prospect-profile/ Viljami Marjala – NHL Draft Projection Marjala is one of those players who could hear his name get called at any time on the second day of the draft. Some boards have him going as early as the late second round while others have him falling down to the fifth round. Look for him to go at some point in the third round or early fourth. Quotables “Marjala is a very skilled offensive forward who can play at center or wing. His strengths are in the offensive zone where he can make great plays but he also knows how to finish them. He is a very good skater and capable of making plays at high speed.” Jokke Nevalainen, Dobber Prospects “Overall, Marjala plays the kind of winning hockey that coaches desire from their player regardless of role or skill set. The sum of his skills adds up to a smart, unselfish, team-first player, who seamlessly fits in any scheme. His stealth-like presence pounces on unaware opponents leading to offensive opportunities.” Danny McGillicuddy, The Draft Analyst Edited July 24, 2021 by steveoath 1 Quote
Curt Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 I like it. He seems like someone who could have gone a couple rounds earlier. Quote
PerreaultForever Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 Well we've certainly gone heavy Euro. I have no idea on this guy. Quote

Once you get passed the 2nd round every draft is a crap shoot and you are looking for a kid with something in his game that is elite such as a shot or skating or physical game etc... You then hope to develop the rest. VO is the classic example. Elite shot and good skating, but everything else needed work. Quote

Agreed on the crap shoot, though. Quote
woods-racer Posted July 27, 2021 Report Posted July 27, 2021 I played the lottery today. I think me and this kid have the same chance. Quote
