You don't have to trade Reinhart or Eichel. Trading because you want to move is the exact philosophy that gets you Sobotka, Berglund, Tage and a late 1st. 2 Quote
Huckleberry Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 Yeah if the value isn't there, just say ***** it and keep him. Quote

triumph_communes Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 Reinhart needs to go. Too slow and too passive. He really needs a strong environment to succeed and we don’t have that Quote
Ducky Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 You guys did so well on Risto I thought the return would be way more. Would've loved to have seen him on the Jets. Quote

This is also what many have previously predicted would be his value all thing considered. He's gone for nothing or make the best deal you can get. Quote

I said nothing about having to trade him. Quote
pastajoe Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 (edited) Heponiemi had some impressive stats. Scored 118 points in 57 games for Swift Current in 17-18. Then played for U20 Finland and some games in the AHL. “A highly-skilled forward who plays with a lot of speed and skill…uses his speed to jet down the wing and beat defenders along the outside, Futureconsiderations.ca 2017” “He is dynamic and can create space for himself and his teammates because he makes quick decisions and has tremendous foot speed, Hockeyprospect.com 2017” https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/284816/aleksi-heponiemi Edited July 24, 2021 by pastajoe Quote

He might look like that, but he is sound defensive and probably had the highest hockey IQ on the team. 5 Quote

Yea, too slow and passive and has to go to succeed. Awful take. 5 1 Quote
Huckleberry Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 What I will say though, I would not be surprised if he gets 80 points on a florida team as 2C. 1 1 Quote

No, it’s your take on stats that completely ignores personality, motivation, and how he works as a teammate that is the awful take. the guy is beta as hell and now he’s a leader. That’s a problem his stats will likely get better if he is a younger second line center for some other team. And they won’t pay him 8 million for it without suffering somehow Edited July 24, 2021 by triumph_communes Quote

LGR4GM Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 That goalie prospect is interesting but you gotta get more than a potential starting goalie who barely played anywhere last year and has not faced great competition overall. Quote

Fans were saying the same thing about O'Reilly before they ran him out of town. Quote

I don't like it when people use these terms. In the end Samson showed leadership last year by showing up each game and playing at the same level he always did. Can't really be said about our pouting 1C. Quote

Radar Posted July 24, 2021 Report Posted July 24, 2021 (edited) The bottom line is he is gone for zero after this season. By keeping him it's not like he's making you a playoff team. We were last place with one of his best years. So next seasons end you lose him and you're still likely no better for having kept him. Edited July 24, 2021 by Radar Quote

Or you know trade him before the deadline. Doing this also shelters Cozens and Mittlestadt so we're not rushing them into a role theyre not ready for. But this team loves rushing prospects in and screwing up their development Edited July 24, 2021 by Kr632 Quote
