I think it's definitely a big chunk on the league but ESPN has known for months they had this event coming and they just decided to use NHL Network's graphics package and not add any flare to this AT ALL.

ESPN didn't* care about hockey because they didn't have the rights to games. Covering hockey was basically sending viewers to a competitor. It's lame but it's 100% true.

This pick is boring because it was obvious from the beginning. Not in a McDavid or another player sense but in the sense that he's been the obvious first overall pick since late in the season.
