Asked this in the other thread, but this is probably where it should go.

Anybody know what Weber being done would do to Nashville's cap?

See my post in that other thread ... $50+ million over the remaining 4 years.

If  he retires, if I'm bergevin I ask the preds a 2nd rounder to put him on LTIR.

NS you used this link:https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2018/07/the-salary-cap-implications-of-a-shea-weber-early-retirement.html

But I think you added everything up rather than multiply the 4.91M across the remaining 5 years.  I think the penalty is only about 25M.

I did use that site.  It is very confusing.

Near the bottom of the link it shows what looks to be the yearly cap penalty.  I did take the total of the last 4 years on that list for the remaining 4 years, assuming he retires now, or before the start of this coming season.

I'm just a CPA ... math is not my stength ... lol!!

Also, it's hard to follow what is said in that article.  Either way ... 50M, or 25M it's a big pile of dead cap.

If he retired with one year left on His Deal, yes. Since Weber has 5 years left it’s actually 4.9 Million per season

And Nashville gets stuck with that?

Yes.  All this is about Nashville.

Montreal's hit is nothing really.  Looks like $1M, or so.

Unloaded Ellis, last Yannick and Rinne to retirement, $4.9M cap dead cap hit incoming...sounds like Nasvhille is going to restart.

Or they're about to give Moe-ray-all a 2nd for Kulak or "future considerations" to make sure Weber is on BF-LTIR until that contract runs out.
