11 goals in 40 games in the swedish league? Elite skating, vision and hockey sense should result in more production for a winger... shouldn't it?   I love his package of skill, skating and hockey sense... but his lack of production is a concern IMO.

Did you like Alex Hotlz or Lucas Raymond more in the past draft and would you take one of them over William Eklund?

That is crazy good production for a draft eligible player in the SHL.

Seriously, there hasn’t been such a productive draft year player coming from the SHL in many years.

For a 17-18 year old, yes. It’s been many years since a player has produced so much in their draft season.

He outproduced Dahlin.

In the 2021 shl year, only 1 player under 23 produced more primary points. 22 year old Jonatan Berggren

Eklund tied for 2nd on his SHL team in goals.

Dahlin was less productive than Eklund in their SHL draft year.

Here.  Only 18 players have ever been more productive in the SHL during their 18 year old season, and for a lot of those guys it was their draft +1 season.

Impressive.  I like him even more now.

It's pretty darn impressive Dahlin nearly matched him as a D man, it must be said

Nice, won't be upset if he's the pick, looks like he could be a stud.

I frankly couldn’t care less as long as it’s one of Power, Beniers, or Eklund. Any of those three kids will be a welcome addition to any team. If Sabres pick someone else …. There will be many sad pandas.

Did Pettersson play there?

Yes but not in his draft year. In his draft year he played in the Allsvenskan and in his D+1 played in the SHL getting 56 points in 44 games.

You take the 2 best players... D Owen Power is and should be the consensus #1 pick for us, we do need scoring but we shouldn't reach for it. If we acquire the Ducks 3rd overall then LW/C William Eklund makes the most sense.... I have Beniers going 2nd overall. That would be a heck of a haul for us to be honest and a great step in the right direction imo.

My Top 3 right now are Eklund, Beniers and Clarke

I am hoping for two high picks to get Eklund and Beniers.  I have the gut feeling that the Sabres will take Eklund #1.
