Actually they are 4th... Seattle Kraken have 82million in cap 😜

That said, we should be very mindful of keeping as much space as possible and staying in a good spot cap wise going forward. I figure about half of our space will be eaten up by contracts to RFA's and hopefully Reinhart. Asplund, Mitts, Joki, Borgen, and Dahlin all need contracts. Probably have to set aside 6 million for the goalies. We really only have about 10 million to play with.

I can think of a way to get another 10 million in space

No one has really talked about the next contract for Rasmus, or at least I have not seen it.

What do you think the Sabres will do with him?  I have a problem if they go all Samson on him.  He is UFA in 4 years, I think.

Stop trying to bring the war in under budget. @New Scotland (NS)

All that space will be used in the war, they are just waiting for the next one to use it. It'll be a while.

Getting Seattle to take Skinner!?!?!?

This is something I have pondered as a crazy scenario.  Would they take Jeff's contract (assuming he waives his NMC?) along with Jack or Sam in exchange for 2OA and more picks this year and beyond.  It does not help us today, but I'd sure like to get rid of that horrible contract.  Crazy thought I guess.

I absolutely would not make that trade myself, but I could see a scenario where this management team would hypothetically at least consider a deal like that. If the big piece from Anaheim is 3OA, and we can get 20A from Seattle, KA might view it as a plus to dump Skinner in the process.

I think it would be hilarious if we ended up sending them Jack and Skinner, they'd probably pair them on a line and they'd be really good together lol

Maybe Jeff Skinner and Barry Bonds should get together and discuss career revitalization secrets?

Roughly for argument sake: Asplund 1M, Mitts 2M, Joki 2M, Borgen 1M and Dahlin 6M

So about 12 million minus 15 million from Jack and Risto and another ~ 1M from whoever Seattle takes

That leaves 38 million to re-sign or replace Linus, Hutton, Sam, Jack, Risto, McCabe, Irwin, Reider and Sheahan

Even if Hall wanted to come back here, why bother.  He played with the conviction of a coward.  He's done here for me.  I'd rather bring Staal back, and I don't want that either.
