pastajoe Posted July 6, 2021 Report Posted July 6, 2021 So frustrating that Tampa didn’t shoot more on PP. Well at least they can win at home now. Quote
SABRES 0311 Posted July 6, 2021 Report Posted July 6, 2021 Wow. Tampa looking for the perfect and Montreal grinding it out. Story of the game. 1 Quote
Pimlach Posted July 6, 2021 Report Posted July 6, 2021 Can the legend of Keith Jones end tonight!!!! Habs pull it out No sweep Quote
Hoss Posted July 6, 2021 Report Posted July 6, 2021 Montreal got the most unfocused and careless Tampa effort you're going to get and still barely snuck it out 1 Quote
KC Scouts Posted July 6, 2021 Report Posted July 6, 2021 NBC experts were like “Tampa with the Power Play should get it done early”…… um…nope… serves NBC right. Their coverage is awful 1 Quote
Norcal Posted July 6, 2021 Author Report Posted July 6, 2021 Corey Perry. I thought he was washed and all he's done is play for back to back cups with two different squads. He'll most likely go 0 for 2 but he was there. Quote

If it gets to game six maybe then you start to think about letting it slip because anything can happen in two games but I'd expect this thing to get wrapped up on Wednesday when they're at home with their families in the stands. Claude Balls Posted July 6, 2021 Report Posted July 6, 2021 Yeah, yeah, Tampa just wanted to win the Cup on home ice. They looked like the Sabres on that last PP. Barely shooting at all. Didn't they win it on the road last year?? And yes, I'm just kidding. No team is that cocky.....not even the Bruins. Quote

carpandean Posted July 6, 2021 Report Posted July 6, 2021 Very happy that it didn't end tonight. My least favorite thing (besides seeing a team other than the Sabres win it, obviously) is when a team clinches on the road. It's just not the same. I want Tampa in 5 or 7, now. Quote
Taro T Posted July 6, 2021 Report Posted July 6, 2021 The Habs continued a truly remarkable streak last night. In their entire 100+ year history, they have only lost the Stanley Cup series clinching game on home ice once. Pretty sure Tampa finishes this Wednesday. Wonder if Vasilevskiy manages to continue his remarkable streak. 4 straigh series clinching victories were shut outs. 2 Quote
French Collection Posted July 6, 2021 Report Posted July 6, 2021 Tampa mayor was hoping for a loss so they could raise the Cup at home. The stress level will ratchet up if they lose the next one and return to Montréal. 1 Quote

I think what I was going for was — maybe — it had been the first time the Habs had been shut out in consecutive playoff games at home. "Around behind the net and Bobby O, Bobby Sauve has his second consecutive shutout!" 1 Quote

He's been good for a long time. His style is especially effective in the playoffs. It's funny that he was deemed expendable by Anaheim and they descended as he ascended. He can still help a team get to and do well in the playoffs. Quote
