And Carrier and maybe one or two others. Now, Carrier was lost in the expansion draft, so I'm not so sure what the Sabres could have done there. Byron was part of a fair trade for Regehr and Kotalik, and now he wears an A for the most storied team in hockey. (Notably, that trade was part of the reason the Sabres were so thin at C in the early 10s--he was a center prospect when traded.) Armia was part of the Kane trade that ended up being a lose-lose situation, though. Edited June 17, 2021 by Eleven Quote

The Sabres got a solid defenseman (Regehr), a shootout specialist (return of Kotalik), and a second-round pick (McCabe) for an undersized C prospect (Byron) and a third-pair defenseman (Butler). Tough to find fault with that. But Byron is in the third round, and the Sabres haven't made the playoffs. Edited June 17, 2021 by Eleven Quote

Expand A goalie is a must. We should be drafting and developing them regularly. I guess Darcy thought Miller would last forever, and Murray was foiled by Lehner’s inner demons.
