LGR4GM Posted May 27, 2021 Report Posted May 27, 2021 Power is not the consensus #1. In the Dahlin year you could look at 10/10 rankings and find Dahlin there. If you did this with Power right now you are probably getting 4-5/10. Does he get ranked #1 more than others, yes but it isn't a consensus. Quote

I would toss Lundell in there as well (I am not a perfetti fan but arguments could be made). LGR4GM Posted May 27, 2021 Report Posted May 27, 2021 Elite Prospects had Rossi #4 and Jack Quinn #16 on their final rankings. The issue with Quinn come from the fact he scored 15ppg and xgf models put him around the 35 goal mark not the 52 he had. Draft Eligible Players don't score that many points in the OHL often. Byfield was the next closest comparable followed by Svechnikov. That's crazy good production and we passed on it. I like Quinn, and in a lot of years he would be the perfect #8 pick but not in 2020. If Quinn were in this draft he would be a top 5 guy but again not in 2020. The Sabres as an organization seem to channel Kim Pegula's mantra of "we know a little more than the fans" and this results in them thinking they are clever when they just come off as dumb. Now Quinn could absolutely have a better career and Rossi getting covid gave that feeble theory some life but the numbers tell us that is not the most likely outcome. Quote
