Marvin Posted May 17, 2021 Report Posted May 17, 2021 I personally would treat these as foreign actors who have access to technology which we can not hold a candle to. 1 Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted May 17, 2021 Report Posted May 17, 2021 I get that many times when someone plops a YouTube vid in a post here. I always say ... 'damn!! you aliens'!! Quote
Stoner Posted May 17, 2021 Report Posted May 17, 2021 This is wild stuff. We're sitting here worried about whether a hockey team can win a few more games next year while either A. Alien crafts are toying with us, clearly probing our defenses to see whether invading us is prudent or B. Chinese/Russian/North Korean crafts are toying with us, clearly probing our defenses to see whether invading us is prudent. 1 Quote
#freejame Posted May 17, 2021 Report Posted May 17, 2021 There’s a better chance of these being from compartmentalized DARPA programs than being from outer space. Our own government seldom knows what’s going on within our own government, especially when it comes to departments within the executive branch. 1 Quote

It terrifies me that these could be Russian, Chinese, North Korean, or even well-heeled non-state actors doing this. 1 Quote

What's the end game for this technology? And did we get the technology from alien craft we recovered? Art Bell Coast to Coast. Loved that intro music. 1 Quote

Scottysabres Posted May 17, 2021 Report Posted May 17, 2021 March 30th, 1990 I was a Petty Officer 3rd class Communications Specialist in the United States Navy. I held a TS2 clearance (following the Walker spy ring of the mid 70's to mid 80's, TS2 was the highest Naval Security clearance). I saw message traffic from across all units in both any operational area I was in, as well as all fleet wide broadcast traffic globally. I was assigned to the USS O'Bannon, DD-987, a Spuramce Class Destroyer via my helo squadron, HSL34 DET6. On this day, approx. 82NM south/southeast of Naval Station Guantanamo, while operating a mass con-flag training exercise with multiple carrier and land based air assets, 2 objects were tracked utilizing both assets visually and on spy-1 radar performing maneuvers no current known manage aircraft could do. Following our return to the ship, we were debriefed and told to discuss with no one. Although my flight crew nor myself witnessed the events firsthand, as the communications specialist, I was on the direct comm channels with the air assets who had, hence the debrief. It has been going on for a long, long time. It's not man made is my personal belief, based on both personal experience and the data known publicly. 9 minutes ago, #freejame said: Yes, in our encounter in 1990, there was a very high electromagnetic signature. 1 3 Quote

Zamboni Posted May 17, 2021 Report Posted May 17, 2021 “if it is just us... seems like an awful waste of space.” There’s no doubt in my mind intelligent advanced life forms have not only flew in our atmosphere, but also landed on the planet. Not gonna convince the doubters otherwise. 1 Quote

Plenty of people have unwittingly worked on things much higher than their pay-grade. Multiple UFOs have been identified as things such as the SR-71. In fact, the last great big UFO sighting was in fact a DARPA initiative. Would the headline “World’s great arms dealer and developer test-flying top secret aircraft” really surprise anyone (minus the obvious fact that a top-secret test flight wouldn’t be announced)? And if they are test flying new surveillance equipment, what incentive would they have to let those with the best detection equipment know or would you rather just test it on it and see if you can beat your own systems? Aren’t live tests more effective anyway? Doesn't that have the secondary benefit of exposing vulnerabilities? 1 1 Quote

It's simply a matter of the inability to hide the electromagnetic field disturbance within the atmosphere. It is tracked with a very detailed degree of accuracy at all times. 1 Quote

bob_sauve28 Posted May 17, 2021 Report Posted May 17, 2021 We have only been "civilized" in any form at all for 40,000 years or so. The universe is billions of years old. Stars and their solar systems have come and gone billions of years before ours formed. In all those years we are the only civilization to develop? Doubt it. We are probably being observed, just for craps and giggles by other life forms. We literally come from stars. Our bodies are made up of star stuff. The calcium, Oxygen, iron, nitrogen and everything else came from exploding stars. We are the cosmos! BTW, this week, if you look in the western sky at sunset you can see both Mercury and Venus in the sky. Mercury is the first "star" out and it is higher than Venus and you can see that Mercury is closer to us now. Venus is on other side of sun now. https://earthsky.org/tonight 4 Quote

From Wikipedia: The Fermi paradox, named after Italian-American physicist Enrico Fermi, is the apparent contradiction between the lack of evidence for extraterrestrial civilizations and various high estimates for their probability (such as some optimistic estimates for the Drake equation).[1][2] The following are some of the facts that together serve to highlight the apparent contradiction: There are billions of stars in the Milky Way similar to the Sun.[3][4] With high probability, some of these stars have Earth-like planets.[5] Many of these stars, and hence their planets, are much older than the Sun.[6][7] If the Earth is typical, some may have developed intelligent life long ago. Some of these civilizations may have developed interstellar travel, a step humans are investigating now. Even at the slow pace of currently envisioned interstellar travel, the Milky Way galaxy could be completely traversed in a few million years.[8] And since many of the stars similar to the Sun are billions of years older, the Earth should have already been visited by extraterrestrial civilizations, or at least their probes.[9] However, there is no convincing evidence that this has happened.[8] There have been many attempts to explain the Fermi paradox,[10][11] primarily suggesting that intelligent extraterrestrial beings are extremely rare, that the lifetime of such civilizations is short, or that they exist but (for various reasons) we see no evidence. Although he was not the first to consider this question, Fermi's name is associated with the paradox because of a casual conversation in the summer of 1950 with fellow physicists Edward Teller, Herbert York and Emil Konopinski. While walking to lunch, the men discussed recent UFO reports and the possibility of faster-than-light travel. The conversation moved on to other topics, until during lunch Fermi allegedly said suddenly, "But where is everybody?" (although the exact quote is uncertain).[12][13] 1 Quote
Gatorman0519 Posted May 17, 2021 Report Posted May 17, 2021 (edited) Maybe Russians, Chinese, or likely our own people have leapfrogged in technology and regularly test it on our conventional military assets (which makes the most sense). They have been at this stuff nonstop since WW2. If somebody had a breakthrough in electromagnetic energy it would happen rather quick after that. I doubt ET is flying interdimensionally in a tiny craft that happens to be typical drone sized. If someone from WW1 era saw a B-2 they would swear it was aliens.
