If Reinhart is also moved, next year's centers would be Mittelstadt, Cozens, Turcotte, and Byfield.

One of those guys is probably best slotted as the 3rd line center and the other 3 should spend time in the AHL next season.

So, next couple of seasons, suffering, yadda, yadda, yadda...

Mitts and Cozen are not playing in Rochester.

So, 90% to 10%. I guess that means the Kings laugh at this and then hang up the phone.

I agree.   But it interesting that at least 90% would trade Jack.    I thought there may be a larger “let’s try work it out with him” contingent.

I doubt Turcotte or Byfield or in AHL next year.   Actually, I believe, byfield  is OHL or NHL.

I think if Eichel is moved it has to be for two proven players that at least under contract for 2 (or more seasons), 2 draft picks and a top 5 prospect. That way hopefully the two coming can have someone can relate too and with said contract status they can see how the team develops with them, if they bolt we can draft two replacements and safeguard a possible bust with a top end prospect too.

This is the type of thinking I would employ too, but I'm reasonably certain Adams does not share it. It's going to be all futures

I don't think this can be gleaned from this poll. Speaking for myself at least, I answered the poll under the context of us already having decided to trade Jack

Though, to your point I think at least 50 percent of the base does indeed want to move him

Given the choice I absolutely keep him. It's just not the way things look to be going

I do not want the Sabres to trade Jack.  If I were running the team I would not trade him.

I voted in favour of this deal because it is so much to the Sabres advantage that I could not pass it up.  This deal would never happen.

I think it is more than fair to say the the forum temperature is ragingly high right now.

If the forum was a person, they would get sent home from work, not to return for 72 hours and not without a negative Covid test.

Cozens definitely should spend some time in Rochester next season. The other two I was referring to were Turcotte and Byfield, if they are part of an Eichel trade, as the thread suggests.

Mitts should be the 3rd line center next season.  If by some miracle these moronic trades don't happen, the Sabres center spine would consist of Eichel, Reinhart, and Mittlestadt.

Cozens, who despite the promise his game has shown, only had 12 points in 40 games this year, could spend part of the season developing his game as the 1C for the Amerks.

Imagine trading Jack Eichel before ever playing him with a capable centre behind him since dealing ROR.

Imagine.

Imagine letting Botterill's ROR trade dictate the future of the franchise in this way, indefinitely.

Botterill was bad. But he's atom bomb bad at this point if we deal Jack.

And Reinhart!

Botterill will have truly burned the Sabres to the ground and salted the soil

I don’t mind if all the players in the deal from Jack are 20 or younger but they must have a veteran number one centre for next season. Maybe it’s Samson?  Maybe he stays , gets the C.  He was surly on his end of season call but didn’t burn any bridges.   Can you have a captain that dislikes the media and vice versa?
Jack on the other hand......he not only burnt the bridges but every neighbouring village was set aflame   I, in fortunately, think there is no way for him to come back

If Eichel and Reinhart stay - which is highly unlikely that we keep both- then Mitts is 3C.  I think Cozens can hang on as a winger although some time dominating the AHL could be possible and best for him.

Most likely case is that Reinhart does not sign and we trade him.  Eichel cries and we trade him.  Cozens plays in the NHL because he is better than what we have.

With the Sabres, what should happen and what does happen, are never in alignment.

I think if we trade Eichel for some good players Reinhart will stay. I know everyone talks about LA as a good team to deal with but think a better team might be Minnesota. As most feel they need a center, yet seem rather strong at LW. I'd love to see if can get Fiala and Eriksson El.
