Thorner Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 (edited) Damn Byfield hasn't even turned 19 yet, still. Within the context of it already being decided we are trading Jack, I do take this offer, it's the best value I can see us getting honestly, I don't think it's likely we end up with this much. But I only make the trade with the caveat that there are top 6 NHLers brought in to insulate the younger players and so we can compete for the playoffs next season I'd rather keep Jack if that's in any way realistic Edited May 13, 2021 by Thorny 4 Quote
dudacek Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 It's impossible to answer a question like this without the context of other offers. But if the decision has been made to trade Eichel, and the decision has been made to trade Eichel for the best package of futures we can get, I don't expect to get a better offer than this. I don't expect to get this much. 1 Quote

I don't expect to get this much. If a team is willing to give the Sabres a package like this right now with Jack still injured you grab it with both hands. Letting the "Eichel Disconnect" linger into next season will just make things worse. God forbid we get to the last few weeks before Jack's NMC kicks in. Rip the bandage off and move on. Curt Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 I would happily take this offer. I easily would take a little less than this. I fear that they won’t receive an offer this good. 3 Quote

I-90 W Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 Let’s just hope a good old fashioned bidding war drives up the price to something like this. Quote

I-90 W Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 These polls are fun, next you should do Anaheim and then NYR. These seem to be the three teams talked about most. Quote
irregularly irregular Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 Voted yes. The 2 caveats are: Getting Samson to sign his 1 year contract and buy in to having a great season in anticipation of his big payday, wherever it may be. Moving Risto (+/- pieces to make the trade work) for a NHL 1B goalie to pair with Linus. The biggest question is who is coaching this team. Quote

I would not rant about accepting that offer but my ideal offer includes a vet 2C at least. 2 Quote

PerreaultForever Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 I would do this for sure, but ideally I'd gamble and want the 2023 1st rounder (unconditional) instead of the 2021. Quote
KC Scouts Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 (edited) Any trade for Eichel would have to involve a youthful starting goalie, in addition to enough capital to add up to his worth. NO GOALIE = NO DEAL Edited May 13, 2021 by KC Scouts Quote
mjd1001 Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 I'd accept less than that. Not that I WANT to get less, but there is a chance the offers won't be that good and the reality is you might have to accept less. Quote

I think that Sam is professional enough to give it everything he has for at least 1 more season with the Sabres. Hall took the payday, made minimum effort after the calendar changed to 2021 and then hung KA out to dry at the trade deadline. That's not the Sam we have seen for the past 5 seasons. Quote
#freejame Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 For the record any deal that 93% of Sabres fans would do probably isn’t getting done. 2 Quote

I do agree, they need another Center to hold them over for a year or two. doesnt have to come from the Jack trade though. Im seeing what it takes for Calgary to move Monahan. 1 hour ago, KC Scouts said: Any trade for Eichel would have to involve a youthful starting goalie, in addition to enough capital to add up to his worth. thewookie1 Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 My minimal requirement is Byfield Turcotte/Vilardi A Lottery protected 2021 1st A Top 3 protected 2022 1st The conditions are the 2021 Pick can be pushed off but we then get the 2022 & 2023 1st Unprotected The 2022 pick can be pushed off otherwise to an unprotected 1st in 2023 Quote
