I don’t know what you were trying to say, but I’m trying to say is that the claim doesn’t match the amount asked for unless you think your life is essentially worthless. Quote
inkman Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 If I’m a professional athlete who feels my life and career were ruined, I’d start at $50 mill maybe $100 mill. Quote
FogBat Posted May 13, 2021 Report Posted May 13, 2021 I don't get it. What makes these p******s think that they can live in a void and not face the consequences for their actions? They'll always be found out one way or another - especially since the plaintiff discovered that the guy had been arrested for a similar incident a few years later. I can understand why the plaintiff wants to remain as anonymous as possible. Sure, we can all go back and find out who was on that roster and take a wild guess if he was some 5th liner or a star player. But 150K? Something doesn't sound right about that. If that had happened to a woman and Gloria Allred was her attorney, we'd be looking at around eight figures at least. Quote

The article says he "is seeking damages from the team in excess of $150,000," which is a common way of phrasing a claim in a complaint to meet some sort of jurisdictional/statutory minimum. I'd bet that's the case here. Edited May 13, 2021 by Eleven 1 Quote

Seems like that's a general consensus for all who have posted on this thread. Granted, I don't think the case will be so absurd that it rivals the USFL for pyrrhic victories. I just can't wrap my head around that rather paltry number for something that is allegedly so serious. Quote

What if... and stay with me... the player just wants the team held accountable and the money isn't the object? Some ppl actually want justice and money isn't the same thing. Love how we doubt the accused because they didn't ask for enough money. Fun part is if they had asked for more ppl would be in here screaming about how it's a money grab. Gotta love the mental gymnastics to get out of a uncomfortable situation. 1 Quote

Half dozen of one, half dozen of the other. Pardon me for questioning a low ball amount. As I said, I couldn't wrap my head around that amount. Quote
