Gatorman0519 Posted May 11, 2021 Report Posted May 11, 2021 Just seen this. He was interestingly non-committal as well when asked of future contract and dodged the Jack Eichel question. Interesting “read between the lines” take on RK vs The Don. Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted May 11, 2021 Report Posted May 11, 2021 I wonder what they were saying in Swedish? Probably all sorts of trash talking KA! LOL 1 Quote
inkman Posted May 11, 2021 Report Posted May 11, 2021 I hate watching videos. Anyway, I don’t see an issue with how he answered the RFA question. His agent is going to handle all of that, he’s not going to give too much of a breakdown in a post season press conference. 2 Quote
Ogelthorpe Posted May 11, 2021 Report Posted May 11, 2021 Bye, has not showed what he was supposed to be! 1 Quote
Trettioåtta Posted May 11, 2021 Report Posted May 11, 2021 I don't really see an issue with anything he has said. I think he actually liked the concept of this becoming his team. Broadly I think he came across as professional. 3 Quote
Stoner Posted May 11, 2021 Report Posted May 11, 2021 At least one of you is running for Sabres Fan President or something. Talk about flip flop. 1 Quote

Scottysabres Posted May 12, 2021 Report Posted May 12, 2021 I don't get it, I see no issues with his responses. He's an RFA for a number of years to come, it's not like he has control of the next 3 to 4 years. This is a non issue imo. Quote

I think the only issue it highlights is, a lack of enthusiasm for the future indicates a likely morale issue. And losing will do that I am sure. It is really important that this offseason, whatever it may bring, has to be focused on winning next season. We are losing the tank generation players to constant losing. We cannot lose another generation of players to the same issue. 3 Quote

The "kids" looked like they were hungry to compete once RK was put on the shelf. Is Granato the guy? I don't believe he's the only guy, but, he'll get due consideration I'm sure. As for the losing itself, if we move Reinhart, Eichel and Risto, like many others I'm hoping for good, talented, young players, some futures (draft picks and developing positional talent, i.e. stay at home type D men) but most important of all, some veterans who's compete level and drive are infectious. We'll see where the off season takes us, I'm hopeful. 1 Quote
JoeSchmoe Posted May 12, 2021 Report Posted May 12, 2021 Given all the kids seem to like Granato, I'm not sure if we can afford to bring some old schooler who's going to want to make them leave town along with the veterans. 1 1 Quote
miles Posted May 12, 2021 Report Posted May 12, 2021 I would be surprised if any player wanted to return. They have been perpetual losers for too long Quote
