Marty posed this question on WGR today... Which was worse:

1. Grammatical error across Marleau’s left-hand glove gifted to him, it reads: “Most games played in NHL history 1768th NHL games.”

2. Sabres teammates gave James Patrick, on the occasion of his 1000th game, an engraved Rolex watch that said "Congratulations on your 1000th NFL Game".

The watch is worse. But man, 1000 NFL games is way more impressive! I'd tell everyone it was right.

FWIW, they had it re-engraved.

Apparently when they picked the watch up it was already wrapped, so they didn’t bother to check it.

Oh man, that sucks! I'd love to be the guy who played 63 years in the NFL.

How do you correct a bad engraving?  Are they welding metal back that was removed?

I'd imagine that the watch back was engraved. Go to the jeweler, have them replace the watch back then engrave the new one. Or maybe it was the dial. I'd personally hate an engraved dial, but Rolex can change those out too.
