“Fidurko has been with the organization since 2015. As director of baseball operations, he oversaw everything from providing adequate food for Oilers players to welcoming visiting teams to Bradner Stadium.

Michael Beimel, from St. Mary’s, Pennsylvania, is the father of two former Oilers players, Mike and Nate”

Typical Olean Oilers only promoting from within

Michael Beimel is also a relative (brother I think?) of former MLBer Joe Beimel, the only MLB player to ever wear 97.

Jim Balsillie might still be interested. #HamiltonSabres

Or any other rich guy who'd keep the team in Buffalo.  Wouldn't be difficult to outdo Terry's decade of great success.

We don't need to be scared of the boogeyman.  That's a big part of why we're in this situation, letting Terry destroy our beloved franchise.

You might want a shot of realism in your cocktail of confidence. Buffalo is a great NHL market and no one wants the Sabres to leave.  But....What would the Sabres be worth in a larger market? What would Quebec City pay for a team? Hartford? How about a 2nd franchise in metro Toronto? The Pegulas leave a lot to be desired as owners but at least they are committed to Buffalo. Never take it for granted that our sports teams will remain forever.  On the other hand, I read today that the Vancouver Canucks need a new city for their AHL affiliate.

Boy are you ever right on...Quebec is dying for a team and so are other regions both here in Canada and in the US. The Pegulas could get a big payday if they sold to interest who would immediately move the team.  Be careful what you wish for as sometimes it comes true....new owners would almost certainly mean new city

Are there oil wells in Olean?

It wasn't named Olean for nothing.

I started the thread because I wanted to throw it out there just in case someone close to the Pegulas reads this forum. Terry played a little ball himself as a youth. Not a bad first baseman — although he seemed to spend a lot of time sitting with the managers. And he was a huuuuuuge Detroit Tigers fan. Still is, I'm sure. Kim and Terr loved Olean. Wouldn't be a bad place to retire to. The beef's good, but the barrel's even better!
