LabattBlue Posted April 19, 2021 Report Posted April 19, 2021 Good for him. That being said, I hope they are not fooled into thinking he can be the #2 for next year. Hutton has also had some nice small run of games over his time with the Sabres, and then fell apart. 3 1 Quote
Doohicksie Posted April 19, 2021 Report Posted April 19, 2021 Wow, even the national NHL tweet showed the hometown hero! Gotta be a big thrill for a guy who went 5 years without a win! 3 minutes ago, LabattBlue said: Good for him. That being said, I hope they are not fooled into thinking he can be the #2 for next year. bob_sauve28 Posted April 19, 2021 Report Posted April 19, 2021 Hmmmm...I guess they go on shot totals and not quality of shots. I'm not impressed by this at all. Good for him and all, but he made the saves he should of made--mostly. He did not steal any games for us. Quote
SDS Posted April 19, 2021 Report Posted April 19, 2021 or maybe just send some warm wishes to a guy grinding away and getting recognition. 3 Quote

Having said that it sure is a feel good story for him and for the team. 1 Quote

DarthEbriate Posted April 19, 2021 Report Posted April 19, 2021 A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Congrats to Toker and Pastorius! 1 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted April 19, 2021 Report Posted April 19, 2021 That's cool. Is this our first NHL star of the week this year? Maybe there was one earlier but I don't remember. It's nice to be an actual hockey team again. Now what's the plan for this week or are we just going to burn him out? 1 Quote

Hope he can keep it going, but 100% agree that if he's any higher than 3 on the depth chart entering camp the off-season will have been a fail. 2 Quote

I hope Tokarski isn't the backup next year. But if the Sabres acquire no one else between now and then, it has to be him. It can't be Hutton, and UPL doesn't look ready. 1 Quote

GASabresIUFAN Posted April 19, 2021 Report Posted April 19, 2021 Could his recent play make him a target for Seattle in expansion? Quote

As stated elsewhere, that would be the optimal result. But, just can't see Francis not knowng his entire history and how it's been a long time since he had a sniff at the NHL. Particularly as the amount of rubber he faced as the taxi squad's GT likely is responsible for a reasonable chunk of how well he's played. Quote
