spndnchz Posted April 9, 2021 Report Posted April 9, 2021 Prince Philip and DMX die on the same day. Coincidence? 1 Quote
SwampD Posted April 9, 2021 Report Posted April 9, 2021 I personally had never seen them in the same room at the same time. Quote

bunomatic Posted April 9, 2021 Report Posted April 9, 2021 Phillip died at 99 on the 99th day of the year on the 9th of april. 😳 at least the Queen doesn’t have to write him a century birthday letter. 1 Quote

Sabres Fan in NS Posted April 9, 2021 Report Posted April 9, 2021 RIP!! I'm with @Doohickie on the rapper (?) and Prince Philip is kind of old ... Quote
steveoath Posted April 9, 2021 Report Posted April 9, 2021 (edited) Its ***** for families when a loved one dies. But he wasn't exactly some kind of Saint. Partial "greatest hits". Edited April 9, 2021 by steveoath Quote

ubkev Posted April 9, 2021 Report Posted April 9, 2021 (edited) By the way, It's Dark and Hell Is Hot was released in May of 98. X immediately followed up with Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood in December of 98. 9 months between 2 of the best rap albums of the 90s. Probably 2 of the top 50 rap albums ever. Prince Phillip couldn't come close to that kind of cultural significance. Edited April 9, 2021 by ubkev Quote

Curt Posted April 10, 2021 Report Posted April 10, 2021 I’m surprised by how many didn’t know of DMX. If you were growing up in the late 90’s, he was almost impossible to not know. 1 Quote
nfreeman Posted April 10, 2021 Report Posted April 10, 2021 Here’s an article about Philip that those who watched “The Crown” may find interesting: https://spectator.us/topic/tribute-prince-philip-1921-2021/ Quote

Not only that but he was front page news in Buffalo multiple times for being arrested for child support for his children in the area. Quote

Well, there's your answer. @Doohickie , @PerreaultForever and @New Scotland (NS) all grew up LLLLLOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG before the 90's. Quote

Right, it’s just kind of funny. I think of him as very famous, because he was at the center of popular culture during a few of my formative years. 1 Quote
