Why not Drake? I’m surprised we didn’t claim Vesey. RE: Vesey......we didn't have yet another 3rd round pick to give up to get him (again). 3 Quote
msw2112 Posted April 9, 2021 Report Posted April 9, 2021 The waiver claim makes sense. The guy is having a down year, but plays with grit and passion, which is something this roster doesn't have enough of. He also has shown some ability to score in the past. The fact that Granato had him in Chicago also makes sense, because he has a good idea of the player's makeup. He's also on an expiring contract, so there's no financial commitment beyond this season, but they also get a low-cost test drive if they have any interest in him beyond this season. Finally, with the trade deadline approaching, they may need NHL-caliber bodies to insert into the lineup for the rest of the season, rather than brining up guys from Rochester that are not ready or that would disrupt the Amerks' team chemistry. I think this sums up most of what is in the thread above, at least the more positive comments. 1 Quote

Also, beyond Hall, it's entirely possible that Sheahan and Rieder could be sent packing. They are both useful 4th liners on minimum contracts. Contenders frequently add those types for late-round picks for the playoffs. They should tbh, West and East coast have two different covid variants - And the west coast brazilian one seems to expanding nicely. Those brazilian variants are scary. Quote
