Hear that former Frölunda junior Linus Weissbach, soon to be 23, has signed with the Buffalo Sabers. Weissbach is in his fourth year as a student at the University of Wisconsin. Confirmation will surely come soon from the Sabres

We like VO and R2, why not Weissbach?  114 pts in college 127 games in 4 years.  Pretty solid college career.  It will be interesting to compare the undrafted Routsalainen vs 7th rd pick Weissbach.

Both are playmakers, both are on the small side and about the same age.  R2 has 40 pts in 32 AHL/Liiga games and Weissbach had 41 in 31 college games this season.

I remember that his junior season was a bit disappointing and he failed to elevate the freshmen/carry the team. But this season, as Holloway and Caufield matured, Weissbach was able to rise to the occasion.

Adding talent to Rochester is always important. Even if he is never an NHL regular, better to let these guys compete in Rochester then let them walk for nothing.

You're so close to free agency, after 4 years of waiting, why not go to free agency and try to find a better spot for yourself?

Just as good a chance here as any, he's not cracking a playoff teams roster.

For fringe prospects, opportunity at NHL playing time is more important than a winning organization.

Yeah I’m not sure why an undersized, 7th round pick who benefitted supremely from his college linemates, would think there is a spot for him carved out in the NHL.  

This isn’t Cole Makar or Tory Krug.
