Pimlach Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) RIP Rico. #7. Great guy. Loved Buffalo and stayed here. Pure goal scorer. Should be HOF if not for a horrible injury and maybe some bad medical advice. His pace was over 500 goals had a played a few more seasons. Punch drafted him ”because he needed someone fast enough to skate with Perreault”. Martin and Gil did not play on the same line for the Junior Canadians, but they knew each well and were a great combination for us. Edited March 14, 2021 by Pimlach 4 1 1 Quote

Nitro60 Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 Brutal stat....PK has given up 3 goals in 4 chances. Went from really effective to horrible. Quote

Every special teams unit has a bad stretch or two for the most part. The 5 on 5 scoring so often spoke of by so many is this teams bottomless pit. Physicality, compete, hockey IQ/acumen and the list goes on i am sure. I just can't pin point a solid explanation as to why this team has had such an issue producing chemistry amongst the talent that has come and gone here in these past 4 years. Ink may very well be correct, the answer may be that they just stuck. Who knows really. Quote
Thorner Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) Is Vanek the last pure even strength goal scorer this team has had? I ask cause it seems like every top/top6 level player we bring in is pass first ala Hall Edited March 14, 2021 by Thorny Quote
Pimlach Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 The Sabres cannot afford to not shoot. They over pass and play perimeter hockey. With all the injuries they need to get to the net, set up screens, pick up rebounds, play in the dirty areas - that is where the goals are. 3 1 Quote

Skinner is now a non-entity in my mind because Ralph has made it so. Sabres crossed the Pens blueline with possession, about 3-4 seconds later we were facing a 3 on 2. How the hell does that happen? Torpedo Forecheck Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 Not a fan of Sheahan between Hall and Sam. Line seems pretty ineffective tonight. Quote
Pimlach Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 Risto defends Hutton but can’t/won’t fight. Pens probably heard RK’s nonsense about the Sabres sending a message. The message so far is that they are not very good and they don’t mind losing 10 in a row. Quote
Norcal Posted March 14, 2021 Report Posted March 14, 2021 Nobody to push Bleuger around this time, Risto on bench Quote

Thanks KA I'd rather see Lazar of Casey at least. Or put Sam at Center and move Skinner up. If this lineup scores even strength it will be by accident. 2 Quote
