Having the other team remove one player from the ice for each progressive Skinner shift until he finally scores.

We could have a pool on how many minutes of the goalie-free 5-on-0 it would take before he finally stuffs one in on the empty net from inside the crease.

Why is it an either or conversation?  Why can't we do both?  That 99 team had Ray, Barnaby, and Paul Kruse on it. Along with Geoff Sanderson, Miro Satan Derek Plante and Joe Juneau.  It wasn't a score or be gritty choice. They did both.

The 05-06 team was a much more offensive team than the 99 team but they still had Peters, Gaustad and Mair who fought occasionally along with guys like Mike Grier who define grit.

Tell me this team wouldn't be better and certainly more entertaining with Matt Barnaby on it.

It certainly doesn't have to be. It was a response to a comment on the joy of a goal like Barzal's vs. a fight.

In the same vein as my Hutton post, Skinner always seems to play a game that would be "ok" if you knew he just scored 2 last night, and assume that he'll score another sometime soon. But when you remember he hasn't scored in 5 years, his game suddenly looks pathetic

Aside from being snakebit, Skinners needs to regain his 'agitator' style.  When he was playing well (scoring), I thought he was also a pretty good pest as well.  If the pucks aren't going in, do something else to bring more energy on the ice and get under the opposition's skin.

All Skinner has to do to stop getting clowned is score a goal or two. He should get on that.
