The pressure on Mahomes definitely entered into the turnover equation, but like I said without those it's a much closer game. Late in the game I thought it was odd that the Chiefs seemed all to happy to take what we gave them in the middle of the field and run the clock down. Down by between 11 and 18 most of the second half I would have expected them to try to preserve more clock especially in the fourth quarter. Quote

Well, Mahomes got picked twice trying to force something that's not there and Hill can break a play wide open from just about anywhere on the field, so it seemed more of a case of trying to continue to stay in the game and get a playmaker to make a play. But the blueprint is there for how to beat KC. But not many teams have the D-line and the offense to actually follow the blueprint. For once, the Bills were ready for what Mahomes threw at them. Great game plan by Frazier & McDermott. 2 Quote

Have any examples? The Frank Clark roughing on Josh is a popular one but even Chiefs fans have woke up admitting it was the right call. It was the very definition of throwing your body weight onto a quarterback who is already down. He changed his momentum to drive his shoulder into him while he was down. You can hate the rule but you can’t hate that call. 2 Quote

It was a beat down in the other team’s house in a marquee matchup and he completely ignored that story as it was unfolding in front of him. How much time did he spend dwelling on big Allen plays? On bad Mahomes throws? I go back to the 4th down stop that I pointed out in real time: the Bills covered the most dangerous receiving corps in football for 8 seconds on a crucial game-turning sequence, and he chose to talk about the great play of the Chiefs O-line. You know, the line that got owned by an exclusively 4-man front over 60. And not the 2ndary that held the most dangerous quarterback in football to 272 yards on 54 attempts, and picked him off twice. Call the game that’s being played, not the one you invented in your head. 4 2 Quote

Call the game that’s being played, not the one you invented in your head. my comment was like an internet thing where i was drawing attention to the "tame/obvious" nature of the putdown - wasn't really taking a stance on CC. - - - CC did what he always does, fawn over the latest "most talented QB of all time" of the day. It was Rodgers regardless of his playoff failures and now it's Mahomes - Herbert stuff has already started and the mantle may even be on Josh Allen before this season is over - the NFL does this weird thing where the latest greatest young QB is always proclaimed to be the "the most talented thrower of the football...ever?!". Maybe cause of all the rule changes over the years or they just want to sell it, I dunno. Point is I wouldn't worry about the overhype - watching the game as a neutral observer I still heard a lot of Josh Allen compliments. Any time CC isn't ranting about how football is, "that's just basketball!", we should consider ourselves lucky as viewers Quote
Norcal Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 Shout out to the Wizard....Brandon Beane. He said they needed to get better on both lines and went out and drafted this magnificent specimen to even the playing field. Spencer Brown, another huge human being played a solid game at RT as well. Studs all the way from the GM on down!!! 1 1 Quote

When he flashes every game, being a difference maker, he’ll get the respect you incessantly gripe about. He was a difference maker his entire sophomore year, was good in almost every situation down the stretch of last season and has been good in every single game this year. GASabresIUFAN Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 (edited) Building the Bills Whaley/McDermott 2017 - White (star), Zay Jones (traded), Dawkins (starter), Milano (star), Peterman and Vellejo - all 6 currently in the NFL w 3 Bills starters - Jones only real disappointment. Grade A (Missing on Jones only negative) Beane's drafting 2018 - Allen (Star), Edmunds (star), Phillips (depth), Taron Johnson (starter), Neal (key depth), Teller (Browns starter), McCloud (Pitt return specialist) and Proehl - Only Proehl never played in the NFL. 2 All-Pros and 3 key depth. Only real mistake was losing Teller. Grade A++ 2019 - Oliver (starter), Ford (benched), Singletary (part time starter), Knox (becoming a star), Joseph, J Johnson (depth), D Johnson (Carolina depth), Sweeney (depth). - All but Joseph in the NFL. 6 current Bills with Oliver and Knox having the most impact. Grade B+ (Ford drops grade and Singletary also looks like he is losing his job) 2020 - Epenesa (Key Depth), Moss (Starter), Davis (Key Depth), Fromm (practice squad QB), Bass (Star kicker), Hodgins (practice squad), D Jackson (depth). Whole draft part of the organization. Grade B+ but could become an A as Moss and Epenesa improve their status. Moss looks primed to be the No. 1 running back. Bass was worth the pick. 2021 - Rousseau (starter), Basham (depth), Brown (starter), Doyle (depth), Stevenson (IR), Hamlin (depth), Wildgoose (PS), Anderson (lost to Philly). Rousseau looks like a stud, Brown has been awesome since becoming a starter. Grade A Honestly, the only guy who Beane "missed" on are Ford. Ford still has a chance to become a good player. This is really impressive. 9 starters (3 pro-bowl caliber players, plus 6 key depth players. 31 picks overall with 24 NFL players plus 1 IR and 4 PS players. Only 5th round Vosean Joseph and 7th round Austin Proehl not in the NFL. Wow. Edited October 11, 2021 by GASabresIUFAN Quote

Sabres Fan in NS Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 My take on Collinsworth is ... Who cares?? Really, we fans should not give a rats ass what any of these clowns say. Bottom line ... a huge victory over a foe that was the Bills nemesis (SP?? ... I don't care about goodly speeling here) last season. 3 Quote
Doohicksie Posted October 11, 2021 Report Posted October 11, 2021 I hate to be arguing pro-CC because I don't like him much myself, but here's the thing: The Bills haven't won anything. The Chiefs are the reining AFC champs and recent Super Bowl champs. When Bills start winning in the post season, the droolers like CC will be drooling over the Bills. Until then don't expect the Bills to get any respect on national broadcasts. 1 Quote
