You know how on a power play you try to retain possession and only take the really, really good shot opportunities?  Players don’t just take any shot but instead they wait and set up for the premium chances

In overtime, similar to the power play, players should retain possession until that golden opportunity presents.  How is that the Sabres don’t seem to realize that puck possession is critical in OT?  In simple terms, if you don’t lose possession you can’t lose OT.  It seems the good teams are much smarter than the Sabres when it comes to puck possession in OT
