Cityo'Rasmii Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 (edited) MUCH better effort. Hopefully Jake is alright. Let's take this win and get a nice run going. Borgen looked good. Dahlin better. A real treat to watch Dylan and also see him develop. Edited February 20, 2021 by Cityo'Rasmii cuz 3 Quote
Sabres Fan in NS Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 Borgen needs to be playing every game. Take Irwin out. 5 Quote

(Remember, they lost everyone to COVID, too.) That's coaching and leadership. Thankfully, we spotted ourselves 3 goals and played really soundly and aggressively the first two periods. I would have preferred they would have brought back Lindy myself . 1 Quote
Second Line Center Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 Of course we needed what looks like a significant injury to a significant player. Of course. Quote

Once Joker is ready to go, Irwin can come out. But it's going to take a collective effort because we're down McCabe-Ristolainen until... who can say. 1 Quote

He lost the face off, turned it over, and failed to get the puck deep. Not scoring either. I don’t know what to think. I expect the best player on the team to make some more impact. Hey, we won, I’ll take it. 1 Quote
PerreaultForever Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 Well that was a pleasant surprise to start the weekend. We blocked shots, threw hits, went to the net even. If we'd had this kind of effort every game conversations around here would be very different. Good to see Ralph finally realized it's a good idea to pair your offensive puck moving D men with more physical stay at home guys. I think Borgen is here to stay. Very nice, even with the close finish. First game this year I can say I fully enjoyed. 2 1 Quote

Gatorman0519 Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 I’ll tell you this. The Devils showed how to go down swinging even when you lose. I wish we had that fire. 3 1 Quote
DarthEbriate Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 Per Devils broadcast: High danger chances 11 to 2, Sabres five-on-five today. No team has done that to the Devils (and Ruff's defense) this year. We can do it, when we have the will and desperation. 5 Quote
Figster Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 Now lets get a little win streak of our own going. 2 Quote
Second Line Center Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 Dylan Cozens can stay. Love watching him play. 5 Quote

Agreed. But Joker is back in the lineup Monday unless Jake is magically OK. I hope for our sakes Joker just gets back to no-panic, nice outlet passing, and sets aside his season-long jitters. Quote

Norcal Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 I thought they were good, even in the third they were getting chances and not backing down until NJ really cranked it up at the end. Borgen Dahlin deserve to stay together Get Well JM19 tough blow The whole team played with urgency all game and it made a difference. Quote
Shootica Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 I'm no medical professional so take it with a grain of salt, but I've spent a good amount of time researching sports injuries. To me, that looks like a textbook MCL sprain for McCabe and I'd be surprised from the angle I saw if it was a full tear. I'd be surprised if he was out for more than 3 weeks, but I'm no expert. Quote
Doohicksie Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 The Sabres had a day game? Well, *****. Quote

pi2000 Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 They played to win. It looked like they believed they could. One small step, now they need to figure how to come out like that every game. 2 Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted February 20, 2021 Report Posted February 20, 2021 So lets see how they scored. Two tip ins and one screen. Wow this going to the net stuff really does work. I'm shocked. Who would have thunk it? Also two even strength goals. An onslaught. 1 Quote

The problem now is that somebody needs to move over to the left side to replace Jake. Irwin is a LH shot, but the Sabres have to figure out who else to move over. I don't like Montour on the left side, but maybe he is the most likely to move over. Quote
