Ralph's job is to put his players in position to have success.   The fact they can't bury scoring chances is on the players, not the coach.    They rank top 3 in their division in CF% and xGF%, in arguably the toughest division in the league.     That's about all you can ask for from a coach.     Give him better goaltending and average puck luck, they're probably in 3rd or at worst 4th place right now.

I'd love to know what our record would be if the top 2 lines could score 5v5 at their normal rate. 🤷‍♂️

Without precise calculations we could bounce too close to a goal post, but here's what I've got:

Skinner (0) +3 goals (career 10% on 31 shots); Eichel (2) +3 goals (career 10% on 50 shots); Hall (1) +3 goals (career 10% on 43 shots)

Of course, that just means they'd all gotten hat tricks in the same game and we'd have one more in the win column. But if we had 9 more goals overall in any capacity we'd have a +3 goal differential as a team. That almost guarantees a top-half standing in our division (Bos +15, NYI +1, PHI 0, everyone else is minus).

Probably 3 wins or 2 wins and a loser point -- right up by NYI/PHI where we figured we *would* be in the standings before the season started.

This should be a toxic market. The team has no pulse and is boring to watch. They show nothing for games at a time and we are just supposed to accept that like good little fans and cough up our money. "Shut up now fan, give me your money like a good little blue collar worker."

Lol.  Stop giving them money!

*stirring the pot* What if Krueger is right?

What if Jeff Skinner returns from his time off and has a fresh new look, and starts scoring again! Could happen, RK would look like a genius

What if pigs started falling from heaven?  We'd all have to buy really strong umbrellas, I guess.

Disagree.  I think a good coach... leads and coaches his team.  Not the media and fans.  This is an insanely toxic hockey market at this point, they're hanging on every word.

You could not be more wrong.

A good coach does it all.

This seems like the 10 season where Sabres fans get the Piggy in the Middle.

I guess I think guys like Belichick and Parcells are good coaches, who often clashed with media and offered little in limited media interactions.  I know Bill is on like a radio show periodically, but he's always been rather tight lipped about his players.

Instigators talking about our five on five non scoring. Question why VO is top six and Skinner buried on bottom six. VO is a special team specialist not a top six guy.  Switch Skinner and VO roles? Absolutely VO is not a scorer five on five. Skinner could be. Again this is coach u fortunately.

VO is not much of anything but a trigger man from the dot on the PP.  Granted, he is so good at that he has earned his spot on the team as a result...but I agree with you.   He's not a strong 5 on 5 guy.

Skinner absolutely needs to be with a playmaking center like Eichel, or else there is no point in keeping him on the team.

To give him that big K and play him where he have played him is part of why we are maybe the worst organization in the NHL.

At this point - i think he's been given a mandate.  Maybe its playoffs or bust? I'm not sure... but he's doing this because he thinks its best for his team and for his success.

I don’t question Ralph’s intent just his execution

How many potential additions in the future are represented by Jeff’s agent currently? Do agents talk amongst themselves?

It’s enough of a stance to just feel this needs to be resolved, ASAP, regardless of who’s “at fault”.

Sort it out. Christ.

Miss the playoffs, send Staal, Hall and Montour(all pending UFA's) all packing by the TDL, bring back Ralph and his crappy assistants, and dont bring in any experienced voices in the FO.

Fast forward to next October.  I can't wait to see the crowds at KBC. They will be beyond embarrassing.

I wonder if Kym was in the room and Kevyn had Meehan on speaker?  People need to stop blaming Botts for the Skinner contract when no one knows how much say Pegula(s) had in terms of the contract dollars, length or conditions(full NMC).  My guess is they had a lot of say!

Basically, Skinner has gotten far less relative offensive zone usage under Krueger than past coaches.

And it’s not just “ya, he’s playing less” - the minutes he does play, a significantly higher portion have defensive starts.

It’s questionable.
