No, Dahlin has plenty to be blamed for there too.  Not that Ullmark shouldn't make that save every single time, but in this case he shouldn't have had to.

To my eye, Dahlin let him get a bit of an edge on him, but recovered to lose no further ground, keeping him to the outside in the process. The Islander player had to settle for a very poor shot. 

It wasn't a perfect play but his error was not anything unaccounted for to the point where a goal had any business going in. 

It was an Expected Save, and our goalie didn't save it. That's why we have those stats.

Dahlin struggled skating backwards. Horrible goal but definitely contributed to the play.  There were two sabers Reinhardt and Miller covering the other side.   Rasmus had no business playing off his man.  No reason to even allow a shot.

You could see he was thinking about whether or not he should flip around and skate forward with Pageau and by the time he decided not to, Pageau was untouched at the face-off dot

I thought Dahlin gapped it okay, but could have prevented the shot by making a check prior to what was a weak shot. 

My only question is if Dahlin commits to playing the man, and the opponent has a backup, it could backfire.

No doubt. But to quote the great one, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."  Driving the player into the boards equals no save required.

Some really sick work by Dahlin on that powerplay, including a quick keep in on the far boards on the sequence preceding the goal
