GDT: They’re Bad, Islanders at Sabres 2/15/21, 7PM MSG, NBCSN, WGR

After a long Covid Layoff, the depleted Sabres take the ice versus the streaking Islanders who are 3-0-1 In their last four games.

The Sabres will be without 3 of their Top 6 Defenseman and all four of their Top PK Unit.

On this day in 2021, Will Borgen was inserted into the Buffalo Sabres lineup.  A player of his ilk was long coveted.  The only games he’s missed since were suspensions for illegal hits to the head of Brad Marchand.

At least the fans will be behind them.  Whoops, that's next week.

They'll be fresh & they know reinforcements are on the way in the coming days.  This one should be a win on emotion.  The next couple could be dicey though until the reinforcements do arrive.

Is the answer because if Montour & McCabe play (& they skated this morning) it is they're only 4 skaters and 1 of those (Mittelstadt) is on the taxi squad typically?
