If I remember correctly he grew up poor. He may feel obligated to keep them out of where they came from. The gambling, obviously, is a huge problem if you’re in the hole. How many folks with addictions on this site? It’s not judging, but professional experience. Quote

How many folks with addictions on this site? From The Athletic: The petition also listed seven dependents, all as living with him: his 6-month-old daughter, his sister, 27, his uncle, 54, his mother, 55, another uncle, 59, his father, 60, and his grandmother, 77. It seems obvious that, beyond providing for these 7, there was some heavy discretionary spending going on, but I'm not getting into that. Quote

I thought he was recently married. Some athletes grow up poor and never get the advice (or example) they need to handle the salaries they get. The Bills provide help to their rookie class that include financial planning services - this might be part of NFL compliance. So there is knowledge and advising/mentoring that is lacking and there are lifestyle choices he made that have hurt him. Extravagance, legal issues, gambling dependence all contribute but at the root is he probably never had the mentoring and advice needed to handle all that money. Quote

Not according to The Athletic article, anyway. And I too recall that he was married and that they suffered a miscarriage. Edited January 13, 2021 by Eleven Quote
miles Posted January 13, 2021 Report Posted January 13, 2021 I read that with his current salary, he is negative 93000 per month. That is more than most people make in 1 year. As i said before, hopefully he gets it squared away and turns his life around. that number though is shocking 1 Quote
