PerreaultForever Posted December 28, 2020 Report Posted December 28, 2020 Czechs have always played their best against the Russians. They have historical hatred. I remember a game way back against the dreaded red army and the Czechs were supposed to lose big and they banged the Russians around the ice. Hit one so hard he went over the boards and those were the days of soft Euro hockey where nobody hit anybody much. Guess it still holds true. Quinn had his best game so far imo. Looked like he belonged with the rest of them. beautiful play by Cozens to set up the game winner. We have a future! 2 Quote

dudacek Posted December 28, 2020 Author Report Posted December 28, 2020 Damn, Tourigny really loves his musical chairs, don’t he? That said, I don’t know if if I’ve seen great chemistry from any of Canada’s lines so far. Quote

Seems to me he's spreading his strengths around and trying to create a situation where he can just roll lines and dominate the Euro teams that have less depth rather than loading up on one line. This might change when the serious games start. Quote
bunomatic Posted December 29, 2020 Report Posted December 29, 2020 Sweden playing like a well oiled machine. Quietly going about their business. Shots 62-6 over Austria. 4-0 yawn. Quote
PerreaultForever Posted December 29, 2020 Report Posted December 29, 2020 Dylan Cozens being praised today on TSN's That's Hockey for his leadership abilities in Canada's game against Slovakia. Praised by teammates, coaches, and announcers. So everybody feel good today. 1 Quote
French Collection Posted December 29, 2020 Report Posted December 29, 2020 Peterka with a PP assist, Germany tied 3-3 with Slovakia after 2 periods. Quote
ubkev Posted December 29, 2020 Report Posted December 29, 2020 JJ with a super smart pass for the game winner. 3 Quote
SabresBillsFan Posted December 29, 2020 Report Posted December 29, 2020 I really like what our prospects are showing at this tournament. Cozens looks like the real deal. Quinn looks solid and JJ definitely looks like a first rounder that slipped into the second round. Johnson looks like an excellent skater who is still on the up and up. Gotta keep drafting well as this is the best way to make the big club so much better. That and some smart trades that fit. 1 Quote
dudacek Posted December 29, 2020 Author Report Posted December 29, 2020 Watching RJ in this tourney, it is very easy to picture him playing 10 years in the NHL as reliable second pair guy. It’s hard to see a guy who skates and protects the puck that well not translating. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted December 29, 2020 Report Posted December 29, 2020 (edited) What a great period of hockey by the USA. I thought Johnson was much more noticeable in a positive way except the one terrible giveaway. I do really like Bobby Brink. He is the guy I would have taken over Johnson, but agree Johnson has a nice future in our top 4, probably as Samuelsson’s partner. Cozens vs Zegras? Who is better? Edited December 29, 2020 by GASabresIUFAN Quote
dudacek Posted December 29, 2020 Author Report Posted December 29, 2020 I don’t there is any question Zegras is better in the finer skills (hands, IQ) and Cozens in the strength areas (feet and power). It will be interesting to see how their relative strengths and weaknesses translate. Quote
dudacek Posted December 29, 2020 Author Report Posted December 29, 2020 Not sure if he’ll get an assist, but Quinn forces the turnover for Canada’s first. And yes, assist. Quote
GASabresIUFAN Posted December 29, 2020 Report Posted December 29, 2020 Big win today for USA. Beat Sweden they probably get the No 1 seed in the group. Then again when was the last time Sweden lost a prelim game Quote

French Collection Posted December 29, 2020 Report Posted December 29, 2020 Cozens with a great display of his speed at the end of the period. His top end speed must be in the top of the NHL caliber. 1 Quote
French Collection Posted December 29, 2020 Report Posted December 29, 2020 Ray Ferraro and TSN are calling Cozens the Workhorse from Whitehorse. 1 Quote

French Collection Posted December 30, 2020 Report Posted December 30, 2020 Cozens with the strong net front presence on the PP. Buries a rebound. Quote
dudacek Posted December 30, 2020 Author Report Posted December 30, 2020 Cozens on the PP. Really like him down in the Reinhart spot. Quote
dudacek Posted December 30, 2020 Author Report Posted December 30, 2020 Looks like Quinn now riding the pine, replaced by Zary. Cozens with the steal and an apple. Quote
bunomatic Posted December 30, 2020 Report Posted December 30, 2020 Cozens appears to be the straw that stirs the drink. Seems to be in on almost everything. 3 Quote
dudacek Posted December 30, 2020 Author Report Posted December 30, 2020 Now Quinn on the 1st line with Cozens and McMichael, sets Dylan up for a good chance. Cozens really looking good. 2 Quote
