Buffalo actually led in number of players drafted that were on current rosters. Didn’t put any quality of picks in my summary, just let everyone form their own interpretation of why. Quote

Poor asset management is a big reason. I'm looking at you, Tim Murray. 1 Quote

Not signing Hagel was ridiculous by Botts. He is the perfect bottom 6 winger for this team. Adds jam and was in house. What a waste of an asset. 2 Quote

LGR4GM Posted June 15, 2021 Report Posted June 15, 2021 (edited) I don't care for Pronman. Anyone who is 5'11" or shorter has to have absolute blazing speed or he bags on them for not "He’s undersized and not an amazing skater for his size". He also rarely takes into account age. Zellweger is the youngest player in the draft with a Sept 10th bday. He's 10 months younger and Beniers or Power. Edited June 15, 2021 by LGR4GM 1 Quote
LGR4GM Posted June 15, 2021 Report Posted June 15, 2021 Here is a guy I like in the second. He's young for the class and has a lot of potential. Quote

LGR4GM Posted June 16, 2021 Report Posted June 16, 2021 Eklund has produced the most SHL points for a draft eligible since Elias Lindholm. 2 Quote
dudacek Posted June 16, 2021 Report Posted June 16, 2021 Eklund just gives off that Backstrom/Petterson vibe: talented Swede undervalued in a year with no obvious franchise guy. Quote

I want to know actually how tall he is and I wish he had played at the WJC20. Covid I think partially explains the dip in his 2nd half production but man does he just contribute all over the ice. GASabresIUFAN Posted June 16, 2021 Report Posted June 16, 2021 (edited) I've updated my board. I have 14 ballots as I've now added Pronman, ISS, Smaht (for @LGR4GM), & Draft prospects. Also Kennedy at SI/THN has updated his board. We are down to 13 unanimous picks as ISS dropped Wallstadt from their 1st rd rankings. Also Matt Coronato is on all the lists except Kennedy's and Lambos is on all except McKeens from back in April. It will be interesting to see what happens with Tier 7 when updated rankings come out. I also now have 59 players with at least 1 vote. Powers is now clearly the No. 1 pick based on the consensus. TOP 8 Tier 1 Powers Tier 2 Beniers, Hughes, Eklund, Guenther and Clarke Tier 3 Edvinsson and Johnson Big Gap TOP 14 Tier 4 Wallstadt, McTavish Lucius Tier 5 Lysell, Sillinger, & Raty Gap TOP 26 Tier 7 Lambos, Coronato, and Svechkov (13 ballots) (Note Svechkov is only on 12 he has been on every ballot since May) Tier 8 Ceulemans, Chibrikov (11-12 ballots) Tier 9 Cossa, Olausson, L'Heureux, Pinelli, Bourgault, Othmann and Robertson (11-12 ballots) Big Gap TOP 33 Tier 10 Bolduc, Toumaala, Rosen, Chayka & Dean (9-10 ballots) Tier 11 Stanhoven, Samoskevich (8 ballots) Others to Watch Tier 12 Svozil, Pastujov, Martino (4-6 ballots) Tier 13 Behrens, Hreschuk, and Koivunen (3 ballots) Edited June 16, 2021 by GASabresIUFAN 2 Quote

He only has one vote on my board and that was 31st by Elite Prospects. The math says Martino will also fall into the 2nd and he is a guy I think will excel as well. 59 guys with at least one vote is a very high number since I've been doing these consolidated boards. Tons of Russians on the board and I think has to do with COVID causing no OHL and limited other viewings of many of the prospects. This is the draft to have a big scouting department. Oops. 1 Quote
steveoath Posted June 16, 2021 Report Posted June 16, 2021 (edited) Pretty sure pronman was not high on Power about a week ago. Edit: Was thinking if a different person. Edited June 16, 2021 by steveoath I'm thinking of Will Scouch. Quote

He sees him as a guy that has things to work on and improve. He is not a slam dunk, play day one NHL star 1 OA that steps in and is effective out of the gate. He sees other players as more well rounded at the moment. He is more of a slow simmering project. The absolute right move is for Power to go back to Michigan and work on the areas of his game that need improvement. Not all 17 and 18 year old kids are finished products. The key for a guy like Power is giving him the time and opportunity to work on those areas that need improvement and that isn’t in the NHL at 18. Quote
