I put my kid in 5 in mites for the same reason. He wore 65 last year out of necessity and it didn't look right. Back to 5 this year. I have never thought of that, I agree. 👍 Quote

That combined with major upgrades to the top 6 should net out positively the standing pat/ slight downgrades to the bottom 6 & the D. Huh? We can't swap one of Risto, Montour, and Miller for an LHD? Thorner Posted October 13, 2020 Report Posted October 13, 2020 (edited) I've also just realized the fact we are talking almost exclusively goalies (for crucial roster adds) is a spot we haven't been in quite some time. Quite some time. Edited October 13, 2020 by Thorny 1 Quote

Quite some time. It's been a problem since the Miller trade. It's just that other problems have been more evident. Not that I think it's luxurious to be talking about the problem in net--it's not, and it's unfamiliar territory to Sabres fans who once were spoiled with Vezina winners approximately 25% of the time. Exactly. It's like digging into a big gambling hole, and we've won enough (seemingly) in a row this offseason (finally) where we are "back" to goalie being the big thing. The bold - I'm trying to think now if we've had ELITE goaltending for more or less than half of my tenure as a fan. Has to be way less than half, now. Quote

Started ~ age 6, Hasek was there. 9 Hasek years, 3 after, 1 lockout, Ryan Miller for 9, 6 years since. 28 years of fandom, 27 actual seasons - 18/27 with a great goalie. 2/3rds. Spoiled by goaltending. Until recently. I don't like it. Edited October 13, 2020 by Thorny Quote
