No, there's a minimum experience level for that. But there's no way Seattle will take that contract unless Adams gives them something to do so.

So the Sabres effectively have protected 11 skaters in the draft (the 7 & 3 they actually protect) plus Z.  And if Hall re-signs, bump that to 12.  Not bad for ~$500k of overpayment.

Day -1 of FA, I was ok with this deal.

 

Now that I've seen the market, this deal was absolutely terrible. If Larsson get's 1.4 on the open market, Girgensons wasn't seeing more than 1.5. 

 

We needed defensive forwards, so I'm glad they remembered that. This was an overpay though, for a decent 4th liner. Keeping Larsson at 1.4 over Girgensons at 2.2 would have me beyond excited about this team.

I think it'll be Lazar too, and I'm not sure Lazar's aptitude as a left winger anyways, but Girgensons certainly provides an option, agree.
