That Aud Smell Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 I don't have much to say on this one. If you grew up in the 70s/80s, there wasn't really anyone cooler than that guy. Shred in power, sir. 2 1 Quote

Thorner Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 "Jump" was, by far, the best entrance song the Winnipeg Jets have ever had. Quote
Cal Naughton Jr Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 Holy *****. Crazy thing is I wore my Van Halen tee shirt today. I was raised on Van Halen, AC/DC, Motley Crue, etc. RIP to the greatest guitarist of all time Quote
French Collection Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 Caught their 1984 tour at the Montreal Forum. Great show! RIP Eddie. Quote
bunomatic Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 Saw Van Halen 1984 in Vancouver on acid. Great show. 2 Quote
Cascade Youth Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 I was hanging by a thread with 2020 but then Rick Moranis got sucker-punched and now this. Worst year ever. Quote

SwampD Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 Sucks. We share a birthday. Gonna put on some Fair Warning when I get home. Quote
That Aud Smell Posted October 6, 2020 Author Report Posted October 6, 2020 I have regularly teased my wife that I'd like the recessional of my funeral mass to be this song - LOUD. 3 Quote

Roth is super annoying and I'd probably want to fight him too but he was the mold front men chased. Quote

gilbert11 Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 My daughter just got married 2 weeks ago. For our father/daughter dance, she selected Jump. It was a lot more fun than a slow dance. Quote
Claude Balls Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 His work on Fair Warning is what influenced me to start playing guitar. He was ahead of his time mastering the hammer-on unlike no other. 1 hour ago, inkman said: And coincidentally my least favorite VH song. Weave Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 Sucks. Losing more and more performers that were influential to me. And more quickly too. Getting old too fast. VH sent me down the path as a fan of rock/metal. First band I really went nuts over. 1 Quote
Claude Balls Posted October 6, 2020 Report Posted October 6, 2020 (edited) Pretty cool video of the VH sound check from Silver Stadium in Rochester back in 86. The one and only time I saw them live. BTO and Kim Mitchell opened up for them. I had forgotten about Sammy climbing the scaffolding to the top.....without safety equipment. Maybe because it was the one and only time I tried shrooms.
