OhMyDahlin Posted September 21, 2020 Report Posted September 21, 2020 Thompson has failed in two organizations and had longer than Mittelstadt to develop. Mittelstadt will be the better NHL player. Quote
Wyldnwoody44 Posted September 26, 2020 Report Posted September 26, 2020 I found Tage and his family, vacationing in Sao Paolo 😂 1 Quote

Mittelstadt will be the better NHL player. Failed?  Based on what. In St. Louis brought him up and gave him a regular role in his first pro season and an injury prevented him from making an impact on the Sabres last year.  That’s not failure.  You can question his development and his upside but he isn’t a failure by any measure. gilbert11 Posted July 29, 2021 Report Posted July 29, 2021 Casey.  Granato put him in situations to succeed and that should now continue.  Bold prediction:  he fills Reinhardt’s 20+ goals and 20+ assists. Quote

Digger Posted July 29, 2021 Report Posted July 29, 2021 Personally I believe that Mittelstadt came into camp last season ready to play and make a difference after a good off season. He didn't seem to get much of a chance off the start to show what he could do at center. Can blame Krueger but he also didn't have much time from what we would normally see with preseason games. I'm hoping Mittelstadt has continued to build strength and speed this off season. Both Mittelstadt and Tage should improve but it remains to be seen. Removing the veterans above them in the lineup may not be good for their development and confidence which has been fragile at times for both. At this point it's difficult to pencil in a lineup before a potential Eichel trade. LGR4GM Posted July 29, 2021 Author Report Posted July 29, 2021 Going into 2021, I have more faith in Mittelstadt because I think he finally turned the corner. Quote

dudacek Posted July 29, 2021 Report Posted July 29, 2021 Who would have thought six months ago that we’d be entering the season with both these guys pencilled inked in to our top six? Lot of pressure on these guys, and on Cozens and R2 1 Quote
Huckleberry Posted July 29, 2021 Report Posted July 29, 2021 I remember last year comments came out about Casey showing some leadership in the locker room. Back then I didn't think much about it, but really with older guys like Eichel and Reinhart there , maybe its good we ship these guys off. Quote
