Eleven Posted August 15, 2020 Report Posted August 15, 2020 (edited) So while considering the bungle that was the trade of Halak for Neuvirth and a player who refused to report a few years ago, I started wondering about the Ryan Miller / Steve Ott trade tree. It doesn't look like it's paying off a whole lot, but I haven't tracked it all the way to the end. In the course of trying to figure it out, I stumbled upon this site: https://twointhebox.com/tag/sabres-trade-trees/ Some interesting stuff. Hasek turned into Jochen Hecht and Kevin Sundher, nothing more. That's where it ends. Meanwhile, Rick Martin's trade tree still is bearing fruit, which is not bad for a guy who died nine years ago. Stoner Posted August 15, 2020 Report Posted August 15, 2020 I thought Kim and Terry sent the trees from out back to Columbus for cash. Quote
PerreaultForever Posted August 15, 2020 Report Posted August 15, 2020 I always felt we should have kept and signed Halak at that time and then picked up Khudobin when the Bruins let him go. Both were available and affordable and both are starters in this years playoffs now. Would have easily skipped the whole Lehner debacle and kept that draft pick. If only. Quote

When I first saw the thread I tought, oh great, they really do have a cash flow problem, now they are trading trees in the back 40 to pay for stuff. The title is a bit lacking, but ... anyway. Quote
