And I think the refs sent a signal in the second period about touching the goalie when they penalized Perry. MAybe not, but just IMO. Still, a boring series, for the most part. Hopefully it is over very soon. I don’t think so. That was a penalty. I just think intentionally taken a penalty can sometimes be the right play. Edited September 29, 2020 by SwampD Quote

Sometimes, it can change the course of a team. Edited September 29, 2020 by Eleven Quote

Thorner Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 I don't really mind Tampa tbh, I dunno 1 Quote
Zamboni Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 Game. Set. Match. Bu-bye Dallas. Too bad so sad. Quote
Eleven Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 Well, it's over. On to the 2020-21 season. Hopefully starting in three weeks. (I know, no way.) 2 Quote
SwampD Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 Fuhk Tampa! Anyome who hate Dallas is just sour grapes. Tampa is way more hatable. I don’t even get it. Quote

Thorner Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 Glad to see Hedman win it. So rarely do d-men with the Smythe. 1 Quote
BagBoy Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 Way to go Tampa! They were the unquestionable favorite last year and lost spectacularly to Columbus in the 1st round. They did such a great job of vindicating themselves as true champions this year. I can't even imagine how satisfying that must be for their players and coaching staff. Way to go Tampa! 2 Quote

Many sacrifices were made by those players, coaches, staff, etc., and it definitely improved the standard of living for NHL fans enduring the age of covid. 1 Quote
BagBoy Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 The Tampa Cup reminds me of the NCAA basketball situation for Virginia. In 2018, UVa was the top seed and became the only #1 seed to ever lose to a #16 seed (and didn't just lose but got hammered). Just like Tampa got swept by Columbus last year. UVa responded by winning the NCAA title the following year, and now Tampa did the same thing. Quote
Andrew Amerk Posted September 29, 2020 Author Report Posted September 29, 2020 I’m glad the boring team lost. 2 Quote

SwampD Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 Now there’s no hockey until 2021. ***** everyone,... and everything. Quote
PerreaultForever Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 well that's over. Now do we start speculating on which ex Sabre gets to lift the cup for another team next year or is it too soon? (I liked Bogo, good for him) 4 Quote
Thorner Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 I don't get all the fuss over comparing the two, ROR winning and then Bogo. ROR was a centrepiece, conn Smythe winner. Bogo was scratched during games in the final. I'm not happy for them OR upset at them, I don't know them personally. They won. Good for them. 2 Quote

Mostly I don't care, but the "because Buffalo" crowd will put it on the table and it's annoying. I agree @Thorny they are much different in significance, but both were massive failures here and I put that on the player, not the GMs/owners. Pair it with the Eichel thread/rumors and yeah what fun it is to be a Sabres fan. Quote
North Buffalo Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 Sigh disappointing season is over TG. Now on to the draft, FA signing period and trades... Screw the Eihel bs. Quote
CallawaySabres Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 It's been football season for a while now. Those playoffs and Stanley Cup may have been the least intriguing storylines in 30 years....glad it's over. 1 Quote
bob_sauve28 Posted September 29, 2020 Report Posted September 29, 2020 I enjoyed watching the hand shake after and everyone getting along. Happy Victor Headman won MVP. Thought for a second they might pick Vasaleski(sic) I really enjoyed this yeas playoffs, from Tampa's super long game against Columbus to them knocking out the Bruins. 2 Quote
