This is more of an extension of the regular season to determine which of the teams 9-24 in a best of 5 series deserve to battle 1-8 for the Cup in actual playoffs. Same as in Euro2020 (sorry now 2021) they have 8 counties in the playoff for the last 4 remaining spots in the finals. Each of those 8 teams right now has the same chance at winning the Euro2020 (2021) as any group winner. Quote
