No players are going to tank when they could get a chance for the Cup. But --- some team has a 1 in 8 chance at Lafreniere and they could easily qualify if they run into a hot goalie or a weird bounce.

I thought only the 8 teams that didn’t qualify for the playoffs but qualify for the play-in are the ones with the shot at the top pick?

Detroit got completely screwed and all of bottom 7 teams were screwed since some fanbase will get to watch hockey and get #1 overall. It's ludicrous

If your team is down 2 games to nothing in the first round, the GM is probably focusing on his chance at Lafreniere

Ah so I just misunderstood. I thought it was only for the 8 teams that were granted the privilege of a shot at the play in rounds. 
 

So you meant any of those 16 teams, not 8 as you wrote.

I think the Habs should get Lafreniere, worst record of the playing teams plus his hometown team.

Definitely do not want Pittsburgh to get #1. Lemieux, Crosby, Lafreniere.

Same. I don't mind dropping much other than the fact it's a gross number to look at. It's been garbage for this franchise in the draft.

I think they need to stop looking at rushing players in. It’s not working plus most don’t have the speed or the body to hold up against much older players.
