This thread should not exist. Regardless of your expectations for him, as a fan, we should still hope for the best.

Hope for the best and plan for the worst.

What in the Pegula's ownership history or in Kevyn's employment history tells you that Kevyn Adams is the right man for this job? All coaches and GM's are hired to be fired.  Adams is no different.

It’s sad that today knocked Out one of the board’s few remaining optimists and failed to bring anybody back.

It's hard to be an optimist when I'm more qualified for the job then the guy they hired.

As I have said a few times, I would have preferred several posters here to have been GM after Darcy was fired over the parade of incompetents we have had.  I am hoping that he telepathically channels the board's consensus on player evaluations, usage of analytics, and resource management.  That would be far preferable to GMTM and JNot.

I don't agree with your pessimism, but you are certainly entitled to it, and this was an excellent rejoinder.

Yes, there isn't a whole lot that points to Adams being a successful GM. I don't think that means that we should start estimating his demise on his first day on the job.

Adams will be GM for 16 years.  During that time, the Sabres will win the Stanley Cup 7 times.

Adams will be GM for nine years and during that time the Sabres will win the Stanley Cup 11 times.

This.

In the future, near the end of Kevyn Adams successful reign, some fans will claim that Adams didn't build the team and that it was handed to him by Botterill, just like John Muckler was responsible for Darcy Regier's success.
