Stoner Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 I was shocked to hear WGR's Paul Hamilton report that some Sabres are saying they don't want to play New Jersey. Ales Kotalik came right out and said it on air, citing New Jersey as a team that knows how to win a Cup. When was the last Devils' Cup? And what does that have to do with this year's team? I'm afraid the Devils are already in the Sabres' head. Now I don't want to play NJ for sure!
Seannie34 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Maybe its a plan by Lindy Ruff to convince NJ that we are scared of them to build upp there confidence and then we will come out and beat them in game one and destroy their psyche.....could work.
Corp000085 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 unless i heard wrong, ales was the only sabre to comment. Anyhow, they are right about the stanley cup experience. Nobody else in the east has won it (tampa doesn't count, they suck this year). It's just head game anyways. As long as the sabres play their game, nobody can beat them. not even detroit.
Stoner Posted April 18, 2006 Author Report Posted April 18, 2006 Hamilton said something like, "While some of the Sabres are willing to say they don't want to play New Jersey, we could find only one who would say who he wanted to play." (Ales Kotalik, who said he wanted to play the Rangers.) seannie, that thought crossed my mind!
Corp000085 Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 oh, i misheard it then... Anyways, the sabres would not come out and say "we don't want to play this team" unless they were told to. We'll see how this all plays out tonight.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 dont worry cant play devils in round 1
Taro T Posted April 19, 2006 Report Posted April 19, 2006 dont worry cant play devils in round 1 If the Devils lose in OT, the Sabres CAN and will play the Devils. I doubt they will as there are about 10 minutes left and the Devils are down by 2, but it is a possibility.
