Eleven Posted April 13, 2020 Report Posted April 13, 2020 Three players have worn #99 in the modern era. Two of them played for the Sabres (although they did not wear that number here). Name them. Taro, please give other people a chance by using the spoiler tags. Quote

Including Gretzky only know 2 players that wore that # in the NHL. So, yes, have 1 of your answers. Quote
Tondas Posted April 13, 2020 Report Posted April 13, 2020 No idea, but thanks @Eleven for keeping this board going through all this. You are definitely a glue guy. 1 Quote

tom webster Posted April 13, 2020 Report Posted April 13, 2020 I know one of the other ones but not sure how to do the spoiler thing. Quote
French Collection Posted April 13, 2020 Report Posted April 13, 2020 I think Wif Paiement wore 99. Quote

GASabresIUFAN Posted April 13, 2020 Report Posted April 13, 2020 (edited) Rick Dudley But what was his original number with the Sabres and why did he bolt to the WHA? Edited April 13, 2020 by GASabresIUFAN Quote

I actually had a Dudley 17 jersey. I’m sure there is a lot of “lore” as to why he left but I know Punch regretted not keeping him. He was a lot like Dumont in that he brought more to the team then numbers. 1 Quote

If you hover over the 99 in the upper right hand corner, you'll see it: https://www.hockey-reference.com/players/d/dudleri01.html Also, Sean McIndoe had an article about it in the Athletic yesterday, if you have a subscription. (Actually, he had an article about it even if you don't have a subscription.) Edit: Also here; https://www.hockey-reference.com/teams/WIN/1981.html Edited April 13, 2020 by Eleven Quote
