It’s NHL or Juniors for Cozens barring the WHL cancelling their season

You cannot. He is ineligible to play anywhere but the WHL or the NHL.

Lance Lysowski came up with a list of prospective centers for the Sabres to target. He added Kerfoot later, but Dvorak would be an interesting, though  expensive, target as well.

Thank you for the post. As Lysowski points out if option A type of players can't be acquired there are some reasonable option B type of players that could be available at reasonable prices. Arranging big deals to get Monahan or Cirelli are going to be tough to work out. But getting one of those secondary type talents would still upgrade our second line and allow us to not only retain some of our other players but also allow us to parlay them for additional help.

Pietrangelo makes a helluvalot more sense for Buffalo than Buffalo does for Pietrangelo.

Alex will eat Risto's minutes, solve our PK issues and combine with Dahlin in a legit first pair for a while.

But what is the term and length of the deal you are willing to go?  $9x 5 years would be perfect but not likely.  What if the ask is $11 x 7 years.  He is 30 right now.

Off the top of my head, six years, $50 million...?

There isn’t a team in the league realistically capable of adding a $10 million cap hit under a flat cap, and term for a 30-year-old was risky prior to COVID.

I will be pretty unhappy if the Sabres' biggest offseason acquisition is a defenseman and not a 2C, G or 1RW/2RW.

It wouldn't be bad if it was accompanied by a follow up move(s). You sign Pietrangelo you trade Risto etc. for that 2C. We have to find a way to have 2 top lines even if it means swapping out pieces of equal value.

The beauty of that specific situation though, is it (a Piet signing) would basically be impossible without Risto and/or Montour, likely both.

You'd have to think a center's part of 1 or both of those trades.

Disagree here. Our PK is bad because it is a passive pile of garbage that sits in its 1-1-2 formation and allows the other team to do what they want. Adding 1 player won't fix it.

I guess I should have said “help solve”.

Right now we have 2 D with any history of PK.
