The game has changed.  You don’t see the old style of play any more.  Hitting is present in the playoffs but most of the regular season is pretty tame.

70’s, 80’s, 90’s.  

The 90’s Sabres with Ray, Barnaby, May, Boughner.  Crazy bunch and those team played over their skill level.  Having Hasek helped.  

The Euro-styled NHL started in the later 2010’s.
