Randall Flagg Posted February 23, 2020 Report Posted February 23, 2020 Great win. why is our ice so bad? The NHL would have a better product dropping a dozen games and getting rid of back to backs. Quote
Huckleberry Posted February 23, 2020 Report Posted February 23, 2020 Scrappy game against a scrappy team and we came out on top. Boys battled hard tonight. 2 Quote
woods-racer Posted February 23, 2020 Report Posted February 23, 2020 If you told me on Sat AM that the Sabres would get 2 points and look good in both games I'd take it. 4 points and look really good? I'd like your optimism. Kyle just gave a great interview. 3 1 Quote

Scottysabres Posted February 23, 2020 Report Posted February 23, 2020 Was just told there were a lot of scouts at today's game. Anyone have access to a Scouts seating list from today? Thanks. Quote

Those normally are not deadline deals. Look to see what you can get for those not in future plans and continue to build for the future. I'm of the conservative mindset as well. This team would benefit so much from a playoff appearance -- just to understand what's needed in the years to come. But, do not mortgage or risk the future for a big push this year (the team is solid, but they're missing too many pieces to go through the 2-month slog that is the playoffs). If we could give a 2nd for a UFA/rental 2C, then yeah, that'd be something to look into. 1 Quote

DarthEbriate Posted February 23, 2020 Report Posted February 23, 2020 Like KO just said, I'm just glad that they've forced JBot to at least consider buying, rather than selling and just focusing on the future. Never his mind on where he was! 1 Quote

Second Line Center Posted February 23, 2020 Report Posted February 23, 2020 They're playing the exact opposite that they did last year down the stretch when they essentially mailed it in. I've been very critical of Ralph but this current stretch is encouraging. That's it. Still don't know yet if the GM knows what he's doing. Quote

thewookie1 Posted February 23, 2020 Report Posted February 23, 2020 Always happy to see a win, and a gutsy one at that. Quote
Thorner Posted February 23, 2020 Report Posted February 23, 2020 This team has had steadying, and then slowly improving, underlyings since that awful 10 game stretch early in the season. They've turned the corner, and I think this is apparent not least because there is no apparent "turning point". They've developed into this through consistency. We are in the midst of our best "strong finish" since 2012. Battling for a spot legitimately deep into March, if that does come to pass, to me is expectations met. 1 Quote

I was born into it, brainwashed from an early age by my Dad who is a lifelong fan. Grew up on Dave Hannan's OT theatrics, and the like. 1 2 Quote

This is what Ralph said had to happen and would happen. When it comes to coaching, true transformation is really about installing good habits that push the games like the Ottawa game further and further apart and stacking up consecutive good games more often. When it comes to GMing, it's about getting more good players. Come on Jason. Quote
Huckleberry Posted February 23, 2020 Report Posted February 23, 2020 who is our next victim ? damn we need like 14 more wins for sure to make it. I think we'll fall short still though. Quote
Thorner Posted February 23, 2020 Report Posted February 23, 2020 Dahlin doesn’t make many bad plays defensively anymore. He’s on a 58 point pace at 19, the age Jack paced for 57. S-p-e-c-i-a-l. Quote

Also the progression of Jack in his role as captain under RK is impressive. 2 Quote
