He can't skate well, he's slow, he's undersized, his shot is terrible, he's not a setup guy, he's not physical, his awareness is below average...  he tries hard tho which is nice.

I think he can be a 2C but I am wary of a career year as a UFA. He’ll ask for way more than he is worth.

Well, yes. But any hot UFA is going to be overpaid. And if you wait a couple weeks you're not likely to get an actual 2C. Those are the lower tier guys who aren't going to break the bank. And Pageau is going to want to sign quick before GMs have less money and start thinking with their noggins.

I am thinking from a Sabres point of view, I don’t want him at the price he will probably command.
