Scottysabres Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 Isn't this the guy from Philly? 1 Quote
Doohicksie Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 Never heard of him. A quick look at Elite Prospects: 2012 4th round pick by the Flyers 55 total NHL games, none since 2018 L shooting LW Quote

I guess they're calling him up? With some of the transactions lately it feels like they're part of something bigger, a trade perhaps? Or could it be the bug that has laid a few players low the last couple weeks? Quote

I need to look at the Amerks roster more closely then lol. I hadn't even noticed his name. And yea Eleven, why sign him now? Good question. Quote
dudacek Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 Guy we got for Justin Bailey - good minor leaguer with minimal NHL upside. Id bet this in preparation for selling off guys like Sheary, Vesey and Frolik. Will need some warm bodies. 1 Quote

If that's the case it means we're not getting bodies back.... or at least not NHL-ready bodies. 1 Quote
Brawndo Posted February 17, 2020 Author Report Posted February 17, 2020 He’s on NHL Waivers today. I wonder if this to make him a RFA Quote
Doohicksie Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 Just now, jsb said: Could be but Sheary and Vesey are playing as well right now as they have all year Which is why JBott may sell. It could be that they need to move several players as pieces of a deal for a 2C. Just now, Brawndo said: He’s on NHL Waivers today. dudacek Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 I think any nonELC NHL contract at this point of the season has to clear waivers no? Isnt this how Calgary nearly lost ROR had the Avs not matched? Quote

Isnt this how Calgary nearly lost ROR had the Avs not matched? Here is what I found from the CBA For 20 year old players, playing in 1 professional game will count as the first year of their exemption. 25 year old players who play 1 professional game will only be exempt for the rest of that season. Players who play in another league at the start of the NHL season have to go through waivers when signed by an NHL team. Quote
Scottysabres Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 The only question I have at this time, is why sign him now. There has to be something going on following noon tomorrow, If or when he clears. I can't see the reason to sign him at all at this time save depth will be needed, but I could be off here. Anyone have anything? Quote

Scottysabres Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 (edited) Larsson missing from the morning skate, per Joe Yerdon on Twitter. Any chance these 2 events are connected? Edited February 17, 2020 by Scottysabres Quote

Any chance these 2 events are connected? Larsson would be a good acquisition for any team need a defensive center for a playoff run. He's good against Tavares, against McDavid, against Crosby. He can be playoff angry. And.... if coveted.... could get a good rental return. 2 Quote
Eleven Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 Raise your hand if you thought that a Taylor Leier thread in February would be labeled "Hot." 4 1 Quote
dudacek Posted February 17, 2020 Report Posted February 17, 2020 I’ve always wanted to see Angry Larry in the playoffs. Of course, I’ve always wanted that to be in blue and gold. Whoever gets him will get value. I hope Jason gets equal value in return. Also, Risto/Larsson/futures for Cirelli/bad contract, anyone? 1 Quote
Brawndo Posted February 17, 2020 Author Report Posted February 17, 2020 Leier will stay in Rochester, but needs to clear waivers first 2 Quote
